SIFAS Festival of India Classical Music & Dance 2005

THE ORGANISERS

Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS) founded in 1949 champions the cause of Indian music and dance in Singapore, both as educators and organizers of performances. With over 16 full time teachers and 1000 students, SIFAS is clearly the leading institution in Indian Arts.

THE FESTIVAL

With the objective of presenting to the Singaporean audience legendary artistes from India together with the best of Singapore Talents, SIFAS launched the Festival in 2003. Led by its success the 2004 edition was scaled up to include varied exhibition. Over 5000 art lovers enjoyed the 2004 festival. Besides the large ethnic Indian community, several other Singapore residents joined the growing audience.

FESTIVAL 2005

The festival movement continues for the 3rd successive year, with further enrichments and exciting features including for the first time an instrumental ensemble featuring renowned maestros of Sitar, Santoor, Slide Guitar, Tabla and Mridangam.
