Sanjay learnt music from his grandmother and tutor, Rukmani Rajagopalan and blossomed later under master guru ‘Calcutta Krishnamurthy’. Sanjay blends a strong Paddhati (traditional style) with creative experiences. In his mid 30s, Sanjay has already captured one of the top slots in the Indian circuit and along with his contemporaries, has played a key role in the Internationalisation of Indian Music. Sanjay is the recipient of many awards including 'Isai Peroli' and armed with a professional background (He is a Chartered Accountant), Sanjay is closely associated with YACM, a group which encourages young artistes and propagates listener-ship among the new generation.
