About The Artiste(s)
Ganesh and Kumaresh, ace violinists from India, started performing when they were 7 and 5 respectively and in the last thirty years they have created their own expression of music.
Having performed in several top-notch global festivals, their creative idiom is international and their communication through music crosses all boundaries. They have a strong conviction that if the world is to be united, it can only be through Love and Music and they have created a musical language that has no boundaries and no religion. They have christened this new form of music as “Ragapravaham”.
Ganesh and Kumaresh completed their hundredth stage appearance before the younger brother was ten years of age! They were made state artists of Tamilnadu by the late MG Ramachandran when he was Chief Minister. Ganesh and Kumaresh have been honoured as Asthana Vidwans of the Sri Matam of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. They were the youngest violinists to be recognized by All India Radio as “A-top” ranking artistes. ‘Kalaimamani’, ‘Sunaadha Sironmani’, ’Sangeetha Saragnya’, ‘Dwaram Venkata Swami Naidu award’ are only some of the many titles that have been bestowed on them.
Their musical caliber has been recognized worldwide and they have performed extensively in India, USA, Canada, Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Middle East, South East Asia, Maldives, Australia and many more countries. Apart from performing, they also score music for films and dance productions. Their music for the movie “Dance like a Man” and “Chandrikai” is widely appreciated. Some of their musical productions that have hit the headlines recently are “Colours of India”, “Navarasa”, “Carnatic Chills”, “Expressions”, “Samarpan” and “Brahmma”.
They have created a new variety of global music that blends the eastern and western instruments harmoniously. Their presentation covers a broad spectrum of Carnatic and Contemporary music.
