Nishta Kumar started her Carnatic vocal music training in 1996 under the guidance of Guru Smt. Lata Ganapathy in Melbourne and has continued her training under other Gurus in various countries. From 2005 she has been guided by Guru Smt. Gauri Gokul of SYAMA School.
Her training also includes Western vocal and instrumental classical music. She has received accolades from multiple organizations for solo and group performances in both genre of music. In July 2006 she presented 90 minutes Carnatic solo vocal recital organized by the Sydney Music Circle. Her strengths are her confidence and ability to throw and control her voice.
