About The Artiste(s)

Prateek, a Grade 9 student of United World College of SEA, is a promising young talent. He started learning Hindustani Classical Vocal music at the tender age of 5, and passed ‘Praveshika’ at Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya, New Delhi with distinction. After moving to Singapore in 2004, he has been under the tutelage of Smt Kalyani Puranik, of the Kirana Gharana, at the Temple of Fine Arts, and under her guidance,  Prateek's repertoire has improved and matured considerably.

He performed at the SIFAS 2006 Festival and has also taken part in various TFA programs, and private soirees. Prateek is also an exponent of light Bengali Rabindrasangeet, and performs at the Singapore Bengali Association programs. His Guru Smt. Kalyani Puranik will be accompanying Prateek on the harmonium.
