Akshaya, a fifth year student, started her Bharathanatyam training from the age of five at SIFAS under the tutelage of Smt. Minal S Merai.
She has performed in many events like Navarathri, Sivarathri, Mandalabheshegam and SIFAS Academy Day celebrations. Some of the notable ones are “Bells in Trance”, and “We Enjoy Dancing”. She has done a duo performance at the Varasiddhi Vinayagar Temple titled “Nrithya Aradhana” during the Chennai Music and Dance festival 2005 and also at the SIFAS Festival 2006.
Akshaya also learns Carnatic music in SIFAS under Mr. Pathmalingam. She is a Primary 4 student at the Paya Lebar Methodist Girls School.
