Sriram started learning Carnatic Vocal from the age of 6 from Smt Kamakshi Balasubramanyam (a senior disciple of Late Shri Kolkata Krishnamurthy) and later from Sri L N Gurumurthy of Kolkata. He started giving full time concerts from the age of 11 under his teachers’ able guidance.
He has performed at all the associations in and around Kolkata, and also at Karthik Fine arts, Chennai and India International Centre, New Delhi. Sriram has also learnt Carnatic violin from Smt. Vasantha Kannan (a direct disciple of the great violin maestro Shri Lalgudi G Jayaraman) in Kolkata and has given numerous performances as a soloist and an accompanist in Kolkata.
