In the arena of Instrumental Classical music, Mr. Chandranath is a well known name. He started his Sitar lessons from Sri Gopi Mohan Bose. Later he took lessons from famous Sitar Player Sri Shyamal Chatterjee. He had advanced training under Sitar maestro Padmabhushan Pandit Debu Chowdhury who belongs to the Senia Jaipur Gharana. The Senias of this Gharana play traditional sitar with 17 frets. They have distinct stroke patterns while maintaining the principles of ragas. Chandranath is a gold medalist from Delhi University in MA Music.
He is a regular artiste of All India Radio and Television. He has established himself as a performer of credit in India and abroad. He teaches Sitar and Hindustani Vocal at SIFAS.
