Menaka Gopalan is a highly skilled international artist, curator, and creative director with expertise spanning visual arts, theatre, film, graphic design, and interior design. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Fine Arts from Ursinus College and later pursued a Master of Fine Arts from the prestigious Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in the U.S.A.

Throughout her career, Menaka curated exhibitions and showcased her work in galleries both nationally and internationally. During her time at the University of Pennsylvania, she not only served as a guest lecturer but also played a pivotal role in developing marketing platforms and creating outreach and educational programs.

After 16 years of experience in the United States, Menaka returned to Singapore, where she made significant contributions while working at the National Heritage Board. Here, she oversaw the establishment of the Indian Heritage Centre and spearheaded innovative programs that enriched the arts, culture, and heritage sectors. Menaka's artistic creations, curatorial endeavors, and set designs have been featured in galleries, outdoor exhibitions, theatrical productions, and films.

In February 2018, Menaka joined SIFAS, further expanding her impactful career in the arts and cultural sector.​
