Welcome to the world of SIFAS! We promise to touch your heart – with the sound of music, dance and art.  Experience the rich treasures of classical arts from the Indian subcontinent, home to 1.7 billion people, with evolved music traditions dating back to the 13th century. Modern Singapore, a little red dot, is home to SIFAS – a thriving center of Indian classical music, dance and arts, with over 2000 students and 30 full-time professional staff. Perhaps SIFAS is one of a kind in the world, in terms of size, range and history. We teach, train, promote, curate, create and host world class performances and programs, every year.

We have courses for all – young and old, for music and arts have no age bar. You can either pursue a serious professional program and earn a certificate or a diploma at the end of 8 years, or simply come and learn for the joy of learning. You are most welcome to be a part of SIFAS to listen, appreciate and imbibe music, art and mix with like-minded people, for an appreciative audience is indeed the biggest incentive to perform.

We organise a major annual festival of music and dance every year, that features top artistes from overseas and provides an opportunity for our local artistes to also perform, in a series of 60-70 concerts over 3 weeks. All the through the year, we also organise concerts, shows, events, lecture demonstrations and master classes that are open to all those interested.​

SIFAS was founded by early Indian immigrants who worked hard to preserve their distinct cultural ethos, through the classical arts, and today the institution serves as a major social and cultural integration platform in Singapore – bringing together people of all races in Singapore, blending newly arrived Indians with locals, and building strong cultural bonds. Culture is an intangible glue that binds and holds people together, and collective artistic pursuits with collaborative works – forms that great multicultural society. We work with many partner organisations, and we welcome institutions, schools, groups with similar interest to come and explore collaboration with us.
 
At an individual level, the pursuing art or music trains your mind, tunes your emotions, and calms your psyche, giving you a much need pause in your life, and much joy. It is proven that it activates the creative element within you.
