PROMOTING THE INDIAN FINE ARTS

One of SIFAS' principal activities is to train students in the performing arts and visual arts. However, as a premiere Indian Arts institution in Singapore, SIFAS also connects the Indian Arts community and contributes to Singapore’s diverse and unique cultural tapestry through the production and promotion of Indian Arts.

SIFAS Productions Limited creates original world-class dance, music and theatre productions, that promotes the development of artistic talent. We present cross-cultural and multi-ethnic arts forms on the National, Regional and International level. We also develop works representing social integration and racial harmony.

CREATING OPPORTUNITIES

SIFAS recognises the integral nature of productions as creating opportunities for all of its members and students to participate regularly in festivals, cultural events, workshops and produced content.

We also reach out to various communities that includes the under-represented, such as: the specially abled, the silver generation, youths at risk, for cultural appreciation and better mental health development. SIFAS Productions emphasizes collaborations with leading local and international partners as we build a centre of excellence for internationally reputed artists, directors, producers and organisations.

SIFAS Productions Programmes

SIFAS Festival
SIFAS Productions produces regular programmes on Indian music, dance and visual arts at SIFAS Auditorium, SIFAS Annexe and at external venues like Esplanade, Theatre on the Bay and The Republic Cultural Centre.​​
The annual SIFAS Festival of Arts 2024 was held this April at the Auditorium with 3 marquee shows at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay.

Outreach & Collaborations

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

SIFAS supports and is supported by statutory boards such as the National Arts Council, National Heritage Board, Indian Heritage Centre, National Library Board and Hindu Endowments Board, and actively works together with organisations such as SINDA, LISHA, Tamil Language Council, Narpani Pearavai – IAEC, CCs and regional community organisations to engage the wider community.

COLLABORATION WITH ARTS GROUPS

SIFAS maintains strong links and actively collaborates with other local and overseas arts institutions and centres to expose its students to authentic projects and art industry standards.

Notably, in 2019, SIFAS’ Natya Yatra, a massive production held at Esplanade Theatre, brought together the collaborative and creative efforts of four major local Indian Dance schools – SIFAS, Apsaras Arts, Temple of Fine Arts and Bharathaa Arts.

EXTERNAL PROGRAMMES

Sought after to perform at multiple platforms, SIFAS’ students, alumni and tutors also participate in programmes organised both nationally and internationally, including television programs, festivals and prestigious events.
