ROOTS
Guru Minhaz Khan, who hails from Pune, was born in a traditional musical family and was initiated into Kathak dance at the age of five, by his father Guru Mulla Jafar Khan (Kala Samarpan Awardee) of the Banaras Gharana. He also has roots in the Lucknow Gharana, having learned under Vidushi Aditi Mangaldas. He also received guidance from Shri Afsar Zafar Mullah Khan.

​KATHAK KENDRA
After years of rigorous training under his father, Guru Minhaz joined the Kathak Kendra, New Delhi, under the tutelage of Guru Pt. Rajendra Kumar Gangani (Sangeet Natak Academy Awardee), an exponent of the Jaipur Gharana. Guru  Minhaz is a Doordarshan B graded artist and has been a scholarship recipient under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
 
PERFORMANCES & TEACHING
He has performed extensively in India, Southeast Asia and internationally, including prestigious venues such as Queen Elizabeth Hall for the Alchemy Festival in London (2014 & 2015) and Emirates Palace for the Abu Dhabi Classics in 2015. He is also a repertory member of the Aditi Mangaldas Dance Company. Over the years, he has had the privilege of working with many eminent Kathak exponents, including Smt. Geetanjali Lal, Pt Birju Maharaj and many others. He has also been a repertory member of the National Institute of Kathak Dance, Kathak Kendra, New Delhi.
