TO BECOME A MEMBER

SIFAS is a society of members. Each student (if over 18 years of age) or the student's parent (if below 18 years old) must become a member of SIFAS in order to enrol in the Academy. Prospective members are required to fill in the Membership Application Form found below:

TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES

​After registering as a member, you may register for classes. Prospective students are required to fill in a Student Registration Form found below and subsequently, will have to make payments for annual membership, student registration and a one-month deposit to confirm the admission. Instructions on how to make payments will be give to you by email.

MINIMUM AGE OF ENROLMENT

Members’ children aged 6 may enrol for the Dance/Music/Visual Arts preparatory classes. However, they are not eligible to register for examinations until they are 7 years old.

WHEN TO ENROL

Students may join a class in any discipline at any point in time throughout the Academic Year.

ASSESSMENT OF MID-STREAM STUDENTS

Students joining the Academy from another institution are required to state details of their prior experience in their Student Registration Form so that the tutor could assess their capability levels and determine the year of admission. Such students will only be allowed to join up to Year 4 and take the examination upon completion of at least 1.5 years of study at SIFAS.

SPECIAL CLASSES

People who are visiting Singapore are allowed to join the Academy for a short period to take special classes. They must pay the one-time $100 non-refundable registration fee for a year. The tuition fee at a rate of S$75/- per hour must be paid at the office before attending classes.

FEES

MEMBERSHIP FEE

The annual membership fee is $100 per year. New members joining between July and December will pay a pro-rated fee of $50.

Membership renewals are due in January each year, irrespective of which month a member joins. Failure to renew membership will disqualify a member and/or his/her children from studying at SIFAS.

Members can also opt for Life Membership at $1000.

*Membership fees are non-refundable.

REGISTRATION / RE-REGISTRATION FEES

Students who wish to re-register should submit the Student Re-registration form 1 week before the end of the break period.

Students who take a break, regardless of the number of months , are required to pay a re-registration fee $100.


You are required to make full payment before resuming the classes.

MONTHLY TUITION FEE

A monthly tuition fee is payable based on the number of tuition hours, class type and year of study. All monthly tuition fees are due by the first 14 days of each month with the exception of December tuition fees, which is due on 14th November. Students who do not pay their full monthly tuition fees by the 14th of the month will be required to pay a $5 late charge per discipline, per student, per month.

Failure to make payment of tuition fees for two consecutive months will result in automatic suspension of studentship. Failure to make payment of tuition fees for three consecutive months will result in automatic termination of studentship and forfeiture of deposit.

ONE-MONTH DEPOSIT

All new students must pay a deposit equivalent to a one-month tution fee for each discipline enrolled. This is held to adjust unpaid fees if the student withdraws without giving a one-month notice. The deposit is refunded if the one-month notice is received by the Academy Office. Students who join an additional discipline at any point during the Academic Year will be required to pay a one-month refundable deposit for the new discipline.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

SIFAS provides financial assistance to Singapore Citizens and PR students who are fiscally tested so that they are not deprived of access to training in the Indian fine arts and the experience of a rich culture. A tiered bursary scheme is available according to the family income. The bursary and scholarship schemes are open to all races.
