Rules and Regulations

CLASS RULES & REGULATIONS

CHANGE OF TIME / TUTOR/ CLASS TYPE 
  • Students who wish to change their Class Time/Tutor/Type should submit their Change of Class/Change of Tutor forms before the 1st of each month to ensure invoice is not generated. Forms submitted after the 1st will be effective of the following month. Fees must be paid according to the new class type with effect from the start month of new classes.
  • Students are not allowed to either change the time of class or the tutor three months prior to the annual examinations.
  • Students attending group classes can make only one change to their timetable in any Academy year, as frequent changes affect the progress of the other members in the group.
  • Students are not encouraged to change their tutor, but under exceptional circumstances it may be allowed once.
  • In cases where withdrawal of a student or any other circumstance that results in the change of group class to triple, double or single, the academy will make its best efforts for the remaining students to join another group class in the next 2 months. In circumstances where this is not feasible, students are required to pay the fees due in accordance with the new class type from the 3rd month onwards.
  • Only 2 class changes per Academic year are allowed.



DISRUPTION & COMPENSATION OF CLASSES 
  • Classes may be disrupted from time to time to hold rehearsals for students participating in external, programmes/annual events. While these disruptions will be kept to a minimum, classes will be compensated, based on the availability provided by the respective tutor. Parents and students will be duly informed.
  • Classes will be compensated for non-exam going students during the exam season.
  • No compensation classes will be given to the students who are absent from classes.
WITHDRAWAL
  • Students who wish to withdraw from class(es) are required to submit the withdrawal form by the 20th of the last attending month. Any submission beyond the 20th will result in the forfeiture of the deposit. 
  • Students on GIRO payment to kindly take note to inform your respective banks to cancel the GIRO arrangement to avoid future fee deductions.
  • Students who have withdrawn will be considered as new admission when enrolled back in SIFAS at a later date. 
  • Withdrawal notice given right after a break or during break is considered late, therefore deposit will be forfeited.
  • The deposit fees will be refunded back to your bank account if the forms are submitted promptly and there are no outstanding payment to be made.
  • Annual membership fee is mandatory regardless of duration of study and is non-refundable upon withdrawal.
  • No withdrawals will be processed from October to December.
BREAK
  • Students who wish to take a break should submit their break form before the 1st of each month to ensure invoice is not generated. Breaks submitted after the 1st will be effective of the following month.
  • Students may take a break  for a period of one to six months.
  • Students are required to clear all outstanding amounts before going for a break.
  • You will not be invoiced during your break period.
  • A re-registration form has to be submitted 1 week before the end of your break period. An automated reminder will be sent to the registered email before the break period ends. Members/students who fail to inform the academy on their studentship status will be discontinued.
  • A re-registration fee of $100 applies upon returning to class, irrespective of break period.
  • Break pertaining to medical and examinations will not require a re-registration fee, however you will be required to provide supporting documentation.
  • No breaks will be processed from October to December.

    ​*Kindly note that the student's eligibility to take exams the following year might be affected and they might need to be re-assessed by their respective tutors.
ATTIRE
  • Students must be appropriately dressed at all times, in traditional Indian clothes. 
  • Students attending dance classes must be dressed comfortably and suitably. Cotton is a good choice of fabric.
  • Parents and guests/visitors are requested to be appropriately attired at all times and especially during concerts and performances in smart casual or traditional Indian clothes.
