SIFAS Chennai Festival 2018 
​Application to perform

SIFAS solicits applications from SIFAS students and Alumni who wish to perform in SIFAS Chennai Festival 2018.

The festival will be held from 7 - 9 December 2018 @ Chennai

Interested artistes (including AIl India Radio / Doordarshan graded artistes) are invited to apply through this online registration form. 
Registration is COMPULSORY for all artistes who wish to perform in the festival. 

Artistes selected to perform are to be available for the SIFAS Chennai Festival bearing their own cost of travel, accomodation and any incidental. 

AUDITIONS
Applicants (non-graded artistes) may be called for an audition which is scheduled for Aug 24 - 26, 2018. The exact date/time of audition will be informed to the applicants around 15 Aug 2018. 

Applicants who wish to apply for multiple disciplines should submit separate applications.

Applications may also be submitted as groups for dance disciplines.

Last date of application is 29 July 2018.

Selection will be based on audition results and also subject to availability of slots

- Your Photograph. 

The forms will not be accepted without the photographs and bios (for seniors), and only photographs (for juniors) so please have them ready before you fill the form. ​

MUSIC

Carnatic Vocal / Violin / Veena / Flute
Senior Category – 20 minutes
1) Varnam in 2 kalams
2) Keerthanam with raga alapana, rendering of kriti,
neraval and kalpana swaras
(For applicants opted for Violin as accompanist, they will be required to accompany a vocalist and will be selected on that basis. SIFAS will provide the vocalist for the audition)

Mridangam / Upapakkavadhyam
Senior Category – 15 minutes
Adi / Roopakam / Misrachapu
(For Mridangam / Upapakkavadhyam, candidates will be required to accompany a vocalist/instrumentalist and will be selected on that basis. SIFAS will provide the vocalist for the audition)

Hindustani Vocal
Senior Category – 20 minutes
1) Vilambit Khayal & Drut Khayal (composition) along with 
Alaap & Taan.

Hindustani Instruments 
Senior Category – 20 minutes
Alaap / Jod / Jhala / Vilambit Teen Taal & Drut Teen Taal or Ek Taal Jhala 

Tabla 
Senior Category – 15 minutes
Teentaal / Roopaktaal / Jhap Taal 
(For Tabla, candidates will be required to accompany a vocalist /instrumentalist and will be selected on that basis. SIFAS will provide the vocalist for the audition)
