Guru A Meenalochani

Guru A Meenalochani Anandan started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 6 from Guru Lavanya Raghuraman at Alapana Arts. She further continued learning at Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS) and has completed her Arangetram in June 2015 and her Diploma in Bharatanatyam in 2016. Academically, Guru Meenalochani has a Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Guru Meenalochani is currently continuing her dance journey by learning Odissi classical dance form from Chitrakalaa Arts since Jan 2021.




ADVANCED LEARNING AND TEACHING
Guru Meenalochani is an MOE certified dance instructor, PA instructor and runs her own dance school, Makoolam Kalaikoodam. She is also a Doordarshan graded artiste from Chennai, India. She has completed her advanced Bharatanatyam training in Bharatha Kalanjali, under the Legends Dhananjayans, Chennai (India) in 2018. She has undergone Tamil Traditional Folk Dance and Martial Arts courses on Karagam, Silambam, Poikkal Kudhirai, Parai, Kummi, Oyillattam, Marakkal attam, Kavadiyattam, Maankombu, under Vaagai Folklore for Cultural and Heritage centre.  She is continuing her advance training for Traditional folk arts under Vaagai Folklore. 



 
ARTISTIC EXPERIENCES
Guru Meenalochani has performed locally for Tamil Ilakiya Kalagam (Tamil Literacy Association) Tamil poets’ events yearly, Omkar Arts' Vasantham TV shows and other events, Esplanade's 'Viswa Prana' production in 2015, Apsaras Arts Academy's 'Dances of Divinity' production in 2016, SIFAS yearly festival events in Singapore and in India, 'Airavata' another Esplanade production with Omkar Arts in 2019. She also performed Tamil Folk Arts events with AKT Creations, 'Karagam' at Annex Studio, Esplanade, Indian Heritage centre and Assembly shows in schools in 2019. Guru Meenalochani has taken part in several dance competitions and have won several accolades in Singapore and India.
 
In 2021, Guru Meenalochani has performed for Omkar Arts Production, Aathi Antham Illai. And participated in MediaCorp Vasantham channel’s Indian Classical Dance series and dance production, Aayiram Malargale.
