Guru Sonali Sinha Biswas received informal training at home at a very early stage in her life before she began to learn music formally. UNIVERSITY OF DELHI She has an MA and MPhil degrees in Hindustani Vocal Music from the University of Delhi. She learnt Hindustani Classical Music in guru-shishya parampara under the guidance of the renowned vocalist, Padma Bhushan Pandit Rajan-Sajan Mishra of Banaras Gharana. AWARDS, SCHOLARSHIP & FELLOWSHIP RECIPIENT She is a recipient of the Sur-Mani Award from Sur-Shringar Parishad, Mumbai in 2004. She was the recipient of a national scholarship from the Ministry of Human Resource and Developments (Govt. of India) in 1998, and has also received fellowship from the Ministry of Tourism & Culture (Govt. of India) in 2002. SINGAPORE INDIAN FINE ARTS SOCIETY Guru Sonali joined SIFAS in July 2008. |
