Rules and Regulations
CHANGE OF CLASS TIME OR TUTOR
Students attending group classes can make only two changes to their timetable in any academic year, as frequent changes affect the progress of the other members in the group. The students are not encouraged to change tutor but under exceptional circumstances may be allowed once. Students are not allowed to either change the time of class or the tutor 3 months prior to the annual examinations.

CHANGE OF CLASS TYPE
In cases where withdrawal of a student results in change of group class to double or single, the Academy will make its best efforts for the remaining students to join another group class. In circumstances where this is not feasible, students are required to pay the fees due in accordance with the new class type. Where the Academy is unable to arrange for the new grouping, the new fee structure will be effective two months after the change in class type. However, where students are unwilling to join the new group proposed by the Academy, the new fee structure will be effective from the following month.

WITHDRAWAL
Students who wish to withdraw from classes are required to submit the withdrawal form latest by the 20th of the last month of attending class. Students are allowed to withdraw from classes for specific reasons. Failure to meet with the deadlines will result in their deposit being forfeited.
Those who have withdrawn will be considered as new admission if they intend to enrol back in SIFAS. Students who discontinue their classes in October, November or December of a year and re-register in January of the next year, will not be eligible for examinations in May or June of that academic year. Students who withdraw their classes during the academic year will have to pay pro-rated fees for the month of December at the time of their withdrawal. |
BREAK
Students may wish to take a break between 1-3 months. Students will be required to give one month's notice prior to the break period. A re-registration fee applies upon returning to class, irrespective of the break period. Students are not allowed to take a break for the months of June, October, November and December.
ABSENCE
Students who absent themselves from classes without informing the Academy Office for 3 months or more will be removed from the Student Register and will cease to be a student of SIFAS. The deposit will also be forfeited.
If a tutor is on Medical Leave, Compassionate Leave or at an overseas event for up to 3 days, compensation classes will not be given. Parents or students themselves are required to keep SIFAS informed if they are not able to attend classes. They must communicate with the respective tutor or email [email protected] with the heading 'ABSENT FROM CLASS' at least a day before. In the event of an emergency, you may call the office at 62995929. |
DISRUPTION OF CLASSES
Classes may be disrupted from time to time to hold rehearsals for students participating in external programs or annual events. While these disruptions will be kept to a minimum, classes will not be compensated due to these disruptions. This is discretionary and is on needs' basis. Parents and students will be duly informed. Wherever possible, the Academy will endeavour to arrange for compensatory classes to be taken by a part-time or relief tutor.
