SIFAS Academy provides rigorous training, in-depth knowledge and a practice-led syllabus course for all disciplines, of which several are accredited by the University of Madras and the Kalakshetra Foundation.
SIFAS has longstanding relationships with acclaimed institutions such as the Madras Music Academy, the Kalakshetra Foundation, Kathak Kendra and the University of Delhi, which provide assistance to us for syllabus development, tutor recruitment, examiners and performance collaborations.

Curriculum
SIFAS’ curriculum is divided into two stages: Certificate and Diploma.
The Academy maintains a close adherence to an organised, pre-set syllabus, which is revised and updated regularly.

CERTIFICATEThe Academy runs a minimum five-year programme leading to a Certificate. Students awarded with a Certificate are eligible to proceed to the Diploma course.
DIPLOMAUpon gaining their Certificate, those who wish to specialise further can take a minimum three-year course leading to a Diploma. Diploma graduates in music and dance are accredited by the University of Madras, India, for admission into its Master of Arts (MA) programmes.

EXAMINATIONSStudents will be advised to sit for examinations at the end of 1-2 academic years upon tutors' recommendation and completing the minimum hours of instruction.
External examiners from reputed institutions are invited annually to assess students. They bring with them stability, steadfastness and the impartiality of conducting fair and focused examinations for the students. |
The Academy also accepts the enrolment of students who wish to pursue the arts for leisure.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
SIFAS provides students with platforms to perform and showcase their talent and skills. Student Nites, Academy Day, SIFAS Festival events, outreach programmes, individual performances and other performing arts productions are just a few instances of such performance opportunities.

The Academy invites and provides avenues for every student to learn further by playing a role in SIFAS' events and programmes, thereby allowing them to contribute back to the Society.

A Lasting Journey
A student's journey with SIFAS continues after they graduate in their 5th year with a Certificate or 8th year with a Diploma. Students will have opportunities to take part in our productions, and become an active member of the SIFAS Alumni Association.
