What is Keyboard?
The keyboard is a digital instrument, which is a smaller, more affordable version of the piano. There are other significant differences between them, such as its sound quality as well as usability. However, for students who are keen to learn western classical music, and yet do not want to invest a huge sum on an instrument, the keyboard is a preferred choice.
Western music, much like in India, has been passed on by troubadours or trouveres, French poet-musicians, who composed music for their own poems. It is vastly different from Indian classical music because it uses several instruments to create a harmony as well as texture in its songs, while the latter tries to keep its compositions within the framework of a single raga. The keyboard or the piano has always been an important instrument for creating complex compositions, and plays a significant part in concerts.
